Living Reviews are scientific open access journals, publishing review articles that provide insightful surveys on research progress in the fields they cover, and guiding readers to the most important literature in the field.
The journal series started in 1998 with
Living Reviews in Relativity initiated by Bernard Schutz and Christina Weyher at the Max Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics.
In June 2015, Springer has acquired the three pioneering ‘living’ open access journals. The Max Planck Society will continue to be involved in the journals, e.g. by making suggestions concerning the makeup of their editorial boards.
